The Power of Martial Arts and Tai Chi

I hope, I can transfer the message I am trying to send to all of you interested in Martial Arts and Tai Chi Miracles.

Martial arts are defined in so many styles and have been one of the greatest disciplines for centuries giving you power to control your body, mind and physical fitness. As a little boy, I was invited to a Karate tournament, which at that time I did not know what was about, but after watching all these exiting movements, exercises, weapons from all the members; I knew that you need to have an outstanding desire, conviction and control in yourself to overcome this tremendous challenge. This was an experience that I will never forget because it gave me the desire to learn what martial arts is all about. One day while I was at school, I saw a group of people practicing Karate in the soccer field close to our school compound, and I asked them what do I need to do in order to learn? They said, you need to have a lot desire to take pain because at first will not be easy for you to accomplish what you have seen from us, so it will take time, dedication, a lot practice to be as good as you can be. If you really want to learn, we can teach you at no charge, but you need to talk to your parents if they will allow you to take the classes also you need to go to the places where we take the classes at night 7:00 PM sharp 3 times a week. I could not wait to start learning as soon as possible, so I asked my parents if they will let me to be part of this martial art team, which was well known in those days in my hometown. I knew this was an opportunity, I could not let pass due to we could not afford to pay anyone to teach me. Let me tell you! The first day, I almost cried from all the training I got because they did want to see from me if I was willing to take pain, and do whatever everybody else was doing as far as the warm up. This was a tough experience for someone that was new in the crew, but little by little I was getting adapted to the training until I became really good with Karate, participating in different events, but I never became a black belt because my parents will buy houses that we lived a few months or years and then will be sold, so we moved quite a lot. When I decided to leave my parents and start my own journey, I have developed a discipline that no one could take a way from me keeping me out of trouble from drinking problems, drugs, bad company etc. I knew that somehow I needed to stay in shape; put in practice what I have learned about martial arts, but what I was making from my job at that time was not enough to pay for my training, so I was practicing on my own until one day; I met this great master doing some magnificent movements in a very slow motion and so perfect, so I got curious whether I could join the group doing it at the park. Once the session was done, I asked the master what kind of martial arts he was teaching and he said it is called “Tai Chi”. Since I already knew karate, I thought that this was just “kata”, which in simple terms means “Sequence of movements in martial arts”. Once I learned more about Tai Chi I realized, this is a good way to release your level of stress, stimulate your joins, your body and specially your mind keeping you healthy from any major stroke, heart attack or any other illness. I have learned a lot reading books and watching videos related to this superb art. I encourage you to participate in any kind of martial arts to promote a good health, mind, discipline, and good body combined with a healthy diet will add more years to your life. I encourage you to try Tai Chi, which it helps you to relieve all the stress from your body, better blood circulation, heart rhythm, muscles flexibility and tendons restoration etc. The easiest way to learn could be through books, videos, attending Tai Chi gathering at the park if any, or through any martial arts association of your choice if you can afford to pay. This art has so many great movements, which are done in slow motion, but you must have great balance of your body in order to accomplish the full benefits of this ancient and magnificent Asian art. Please do not forget that is very important to have a healthy and balanced diet to work along with any sport; I tried to emphasize this very strongly, so you can perform well in any normal activity or under pressure.
